What are CPpilot.com Penny Auctions?
Think of penny auctions as a raffle, but instead of someone picking a ticket from a hat, YOU can control what you win!
Most of the items at the CPpilot.com Auctions have been donated, so each bid can be collated to CPpilot charity efforts!
Subscribers have to pay for each bid, and each bid increases the auction price by a very small amount. In any case, each bid only increases the price by 1 cent since it is a penny auction.
Simulation of A Live Auction!
The best part of the site is that many of the winners who will "win" these auctions will use something called a BidButler. You will be able to set up your account to bid in your behalf - in the last few seconds of an auction. However, each auction's time left is supposed to go up by a few seconds so that others have a chance to bid. The BidButler allows you to basically schedule bids and get hundreds of bids in a short amount of time. It works for you!
Pay per bid auctions are definitely exciting to watch - the clock going down to less than ten seconds as a frenzy of bids poured in, but then suddenly the clock gets extended by 10 to 20 seconsds and the waiting game starts all over again. There is a final end time on each item, but before that final date the clock is basically controlled by everyone stratigicly bidding and each person could extend it as long as they are getting other people willing to bid also - if not they win! They know that every time they bring the clock close to 0 they will better off winning the auction, and they can do that countless times before the final end time - chances are others cant bid in time, or are paying as good attention.
Both sides of this auction type are WINNERS!
There are many legitimate uses for penny auctions and charities. Valuable items are listed for one penny(or cent) with no reserve and after seven days the item goes to the highest bidder, even if the bidding only reaches two cents. The money in this case goes to Cerebral Palsy, this site and you! (For more information where the money goes go to the "My Charity Efforts" page).
