When I was young, my parents had season tickets and I was at the game that Mike Schmidt (20) hit his last Grand Slam; it happened to be my birthday! At that very same moment that the Phillies Girls came down with my Birthday prizes and confetti, Mike had his legendary at bat - so I missed my favorite player hit his last homer of his long career - I was too young to care at the time, but my dad made the girls get me a signed card and ball from #20.

Well, now that "my team" is in the world series AGAIN. It would have been nice to watch them on TV. BUT, my TV/CABLE box has been broken since 3 hours before the first game of the series.

I've been working on getting the auction site up and running again, the only thing I'm waiting for now is a software update/upgrade. Other than installing the upgrade...everything is a go with the site!

I didn't want to announce the re-re-launching of the site, and then have to take it down for another period of time, while the upgrade is being installed. So, I figured I would just patiently wait out until the upgrade is released out of Beta testing, install, test and then tell the world again. The developers say that it should be out soon - within the next week or two.

I haven't been totally idle though. I have plans to host a bowling event in my area with a silent auction and pro athlete visitors. The ETA for that Looks like February. Should be a good time!

Just give me a few days to restock the site and refund everyones bids, and we'll be up and running again!

Remember the fraudulent bidders? Using their IP information and the combination of some law enforcement contacts and a few techy-geek friends of mine...we found one of the three hackers and there is a good chance he will be going to jail for fraud. The others who hacked my site, are sill under investigation, but the authorities are hot on their trail, thanks to our detective work.

Even with all this going on, the site raised $300.00 for charity - the short time it was up and running. I brought a check over to my local UCP location on June 30th. But, in retrospect, I should have taken a picture of the "handing over the check" ceremony - next time; it wasnt that glorious, I wrote the check and handed it to the representative, she thanked me, then her manager came over and I told them both about the site and my long term goals. After a few more thank yous, a hand shake and a "good luck" from them both, the deal was done...I have to say, I felt REALLY GOOD - thanks to you!!

Maybe I should get one of those HUGE checks and take a picture (probably cost just as much for the huge check as I'm donating...lol).

Not all the features of the site were working, and there was a security breach by hackers. But, all-in-all the auctions site is making a difference. With a little bit of work it will be up and running again shortly.

I plan on starting small. Before, I thought I would go for the gusto and immediately list the high end electronics and well sought after items, but that proved to be too much to handle at once.

The new plan is to start small with video games, DVDs, small cameras, hand held consoles and other cool things. The new auction format will be a "fixed price auction." This is where a $50 video game would be listed at $20 for example, and instead of each bid raising the price of the auction, the latest bidder will win the item at that fixed price ($20) when the auction ends.

This new format seems to be the best at the moment while the site gains momentum - then the re-introduction of the "Penny Auction" will happen.

What do you think? Thank you for your continued support, and sorry for the delay!

I'll keep you posted on any progress.
